Rhonda Haler, MS, LP

Rhonda Haler, M.S. is a Licensed Psychologist and EMDR Certified Therapist serving Des Moines and central Iowa clients. Rhonda has over thirty years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. She takes a client centered approach and believes the relationship with the client is the beginning of the healing process. Rhonda uses therapeutic modalities of CBT, DBT skills, EMDR, art and play therapy techniques to facilitate expression of feelings and begin skill building techniques.

Rhonda has a special interest in treating anxiety, depression, OCD and trauma issues and has had extensive training in attachment trauma as well. She has worked and trained under a trauma informed philosophy recognizing the unresolved issues and trauma that need to be addressed behind the behavioral symptoms exhibited. She provides individual and family therapy to children, adolescents and adults.

Rhonda received her undergraduate and Master’s degree from Drake University in 1985. She worked after graduate school with adults with disabilities at a state hospital and community workshop setting. Rhonda then was a psychometrist and later Clinical Director for an adolescent inpatient unit at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She gained outpatient and partial hospitalization experience in this setting as well as facilitating numerous groups. Rhonda worked for 21 years at Orchard Place residential where she was a
